About this course

Already take the wheel for a spin and want to refine your throwing, trimming and glazing skills?! Get right back on the wheel and start where you left off. This course is great for students who know how to consistently center and have control making straight up and down cylinders. This course will go over throwing with a bit more clay, making plates/blates, and repetitive forms! If you can answer "yes" to both of the following questions, you are ready for Intermediate 1! Q’s: Can you center your clay easily? Can you throw straight up and down cylinders with control? This course meets on consecutive Monday evenings from 6pm-8:30pm for six weeks. **Please note that their will be no classes the week of November 24-30th for Thanksgiving holiday. Classes will resume the following week.** Intermediate 1 will cover the following skills and techniques: -Repetitive and consistent throwing -Plates, Blates, and Bowls -Throwing with 3+ lbs of clay -Next level decoration and glazing Course includes: clay & firing | tools & materials | glazes | Open Studio hours from Tuesday-Sunday, 11am-6pm. Please note that the minimum age to register for this class is 16 years old. Students may not bring guests when attending Outside Studios for the duration of their 6-Week Course. Make up Policy: For any Intro Courses, we do not recommend missing any classes as each week leads to the next. Students will generally fall behind if there are missed classes, so be sure to check your calendar ahead of time! If you need to make up a class, you may sit in on another class (same type of class, ie. Intro to the Wheel) that same week. Same type classes follow the same schedule week to week. If you can’t make up a class that falls within that same week, there are no make ups.
